Dedicated to fans of the Donald Youngblood Mystery series and the NEW Youngblood Stories
Thank you for your encouragement and support!

7/17/20 from HD (TN)
If you enjoy action-based plots with no boring moments, then you need to read this series. As a Criminal Investigator . . . I can attest that although fiction, his descriptive writing and investigative methods make me feel I’m actually working the cases with Youngblood. A long-time fan of Patterson and Woods, I can state with joy that Donnelly has raised the bar on story telling

Moving Target [is] another of Keith Donnelly great books [that] keeps you on the edge of your chair until a very unsuspected ending. Reading [this book] you are shocked at the ending and wished it would not end. A book that is hard to put down!

Moving Target was excellent reading. I like your idea of Youngblood Stories. Glad to hear you are working on that ninth book. Look forward to reading it. Keep up the fantastic writing.

Wonderful story [Moving Target]! I have two recommendations for you: write more books and make them longer! I have enjoyed . . . every book and encourage you to keep up the great work. You have a talent and a gift.

I've read all your books. You have inscribed each of them and I am passing them to my daughter who purchased the most recent Moving Target as a Christmas gift for me. Very good reads! Keep writing the novels and the Youngblood stories . . . we look forward to more, so keep writing!

Really enjoyed the different format [Moving Target] (ED NOTE: shorter page count, smaller trim size, single plot) but love all of his books.

12/3/19 From GG (FL)
Keith's books . . . seem well thought out with a twist or two. Youngblood is The Golden Child. Though he has been shot with four bullets, he is unstoppable and always survives. The relationships with his wife and friends and new ones [Moving Target] are refreshing because his loyalty is endearing to me: one reader who appreciates his genuineness. His money and connections buy him everything he needs to do things at the highest level of performance. Even when he was duped by the highest office of the land, he was okay with it because of the severity of the crime.

Just finished it [Moving Target]. As usual you capture my attention and I find it hard to put your books down until I get to the end.

I marvel at Keith’s talent for intrigue with twists and turns to keep the reader involved. I finished this latest book [Moving Target] in two afternoons because I’ve found once you start, it’s hard to put down without finishing . . . [The book is] a fast read: it’s fun, it keeps the reader’s interest with the fast pace of the characters and it’s always fun to read a book with familiar places and events as Keith is so good to interject.

In Moving Target we explore a new direction but find plenty of the old DYM magic! Keith continues to be my favorite storyteller!

~*~

11/19/19 From MM (KY)
After reading the first 20 pages or so [of Moving Target] it felt like a family reunion. Love these characters and love this series of books. Well done, just waiting now for the next one.

Moving Target hits the bull’s eye when it comes to mystery and intrigue as Donald Youngblood weaves his way to hot spots across the world. Holding the story together is the deep love between him and his wife Mary. Followers of Keith Donnelly’s series enjoy updates on their favorite people from previous books. Meanwhile Donald meets amazing new and powerful characters. Could this story have a possible basis in fact? Sit back and enjoy! Have a mug of Donald’s favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee to make this read the perfect adventure.

I became interested in Mr. Donnelly's books after a visit to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and the Buie Pottery Shop. There was a table of his books for sale and as I examined them the owner explained how Mr. Donnelly was a resident and would be in later if I would like to meet him. I bought the books but unfortunately, due to travel agenda restraints did not get to meet him. Someday, I will return and will wait to meet Mr. Donnelly and ask him to sign the books that I have enjoyed reading.    I am a big fan of the older John D McDonald's Travis McGee and Ed McBain's 43rd Precinct series and Mr. Donnelly's Youngblood series has earned the same respect and adoration. Well written suspense that keeps a reader on the edge of their seat set in an area of the United States that I love and enjoy traveling with Mr. Youngblood and his associates as they unravel the mysteries.

I've just recently retired and now I make time to read. This series was recommended to me by friends. Excellent read. Love that Mary. Like the East Tennessee setting. I'm a cheap read and don't want to pay full price for any book so it took me three months to acquire through eBay and Kindle. Worth the wait.

As with other offerings Mr. Donnelly has kept me interested from start to finish. His ability to make me feel as if he is relating a real life experience is why I eagerly wait for his next work. If only they would use some of these for movies or TV programming then the boneheaded could enjoy his story telling.

I find myself, once again, in the “doldrums” – being between completing reading of Book 6 and awaiting publication of Book 7 of DY Blood mystery adventures.
Wish I could think of something clever to express my enjoyment of being a fan of Keith/Youngblood; I can’t, so I will simply state – I thoroughly enjoyed Three Daggers. If I may, I will simply say that each story seems to get better; if that is possible. I am resigned to the fact that now I just have to be patient until time to rejoin “the family” for tale #7 in the series! Thank you Keith, for your superbly talented efforts.

[Reader who has] enjoyed all three prior books [says] Three Deadly Drops is very "Christie-ish"
I have enjoyed all three prior books, [however] Three Deadly Drops was the one I read the fastest. It [Three Deadly Drops] reminded me . . . of Agatha Christie's . . . 10 Little Indians (aka, And Then There Were None). Three Deadly Drops has [a person] "dropping" one after another and then at the end of the book, everything becomes revealed. That's very "Christie-ish". . . I met you in 2011 [when] we were in search of pottery . . . [and] we stumbled into Buie Pottery. What a delightful surprise to find an author amidst the stoneware! I bought the first two of the series right then . . . I must say I was awfully thrilled to have you pen a note to me in the inside covers of each. It's not every day I meet a published author . . . I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy those two books then, but have been hooked ever since! I shared them with my fiancé (a writer as well) and two other friends who also devoured them. My fiancé immediately ordered the third in the series and now I'm ordering the fourth!

[Three Days Dead] was so engrossing that I could not put it down - literally! [Later] I re-read the whole [book], taking the time to enjoy the narrative instead of hurrying through to find out the solution to the mystery. I love the character and plot development. . . [The author's] incorporation of local areas [that I am personally familiar with] into his work creates a familiar backdrop for the story setting. My reading time is sparse . . . I usually only get to read on vacation, so I'm very picky about what I read. I had read . . .Three Deuces Down on my last vacation, and had thoroughly enjoyed that mystery as well. On amazon.com: January 21, 2012 , A fun mystery!
Re: Three Deuces Down. I got this book on a . . . vacation when . . . a local author was holding a book signing. I had not read any of his [Keith's] books, but I love to read and figured I'd take a gamble. It turned out to be a good bet. There was plenty of suspense to keep me sneaking a read whenever I could and the characters were likeable. I called this a 'fun' mystery because it's not the type with grisly details and a creepy serial killer to keep you up at night (I can't read those after a hard day at work or I never sleep!). Instead it's a good detective story sprinkled liberally with humor. A good read.

Your story telling is fantastic and being familiar with the Gatlinburg area I was able to picture myself in the surroundings. I am a very big fan of John Grisham and you are right up there with him. Waiting for you next novel . . . thanks for the great stories.

...in love with "Blood!"
[Reader and her friend met Keith at a signing] I have read most of the day while our husbands were car watching in Pigeon Forge. I am in love with Blood! I am getting ready to take [the book] to [read] in bed . . . our husbands are now watching the football game. Which reminds me! The only flaw with my darling Blood is the UT fan thing, but I forgive him, you see I am one of those, how did he (you) put it "hated Gators."
My friend . . . is rushing me to finish so she can start [Three Days Dead], so, I guess I better get back to reading. I am so glad we happened into your signing...

Love the goodness of your main character
I have read the first two [books] and plan on reading the third one while we take a little vacation at our cabin... I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two. [The books] have a really good story line and I love the goodness of your main character. The classic 'doing good' because it is the right thing to do, really rings home for me. The way in which [Don's] friends help him and he helps them is something that speaks volumes to me.

Not a fan of blood, guts and gore
Just wanted to let you know that I read “Three Devils Dancing” the same day that I [purchased it]. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the other books in the series. I love a mystery but am not a fan of blood, guts and gore so I was impressed with how you worked the gruesome murders into the story without the grim blow by blow details.
...I'm adding you to my "favorite" author list.

You beat Grisham
I have read all of ...[your] books again in the last 3 days, and . .. my personal opinion [is that] you beat Grisham. You have the ability to keep me on edge waiting for the next twist. Like yours [books] better [than Patterson]
I like mystery [and] private dick books. I have read quite a few of the Patterson books and I like yours better. Of course it is easy to get hooked on the characters in [your] books from one to the next.
I just finished Three Days Dead and ... was very sucked in to Three Devils Dancing [with] the way you ended [Three Days Dead]. You did a great job for the reader creating emotional interest in Lacy Malone. Also I like the way there are at least two bad guys being dealt with. Anxious to hear more about Roy and Billy and their close tie with "Blood" and maybe Bruiser . . .

Youngblood caused reader to miss appointment
I ended up missing a medical appointment because I was so engrossed in Three Days Dead [and] when I looked [up] from the breakfast table it was 11 am. That got a good chuckle from my bridge group who quickly wrote down your name. A great read again, I like it that there are several things going at once and that you end them with the start of another book, [reeling] me in for [Three Devils Dancing].

Mother-in-law gave first two books as a Christmas gift
My mother-in-law met you ... at one of your book signings. She bought [your first two books] ... to give us as a Christmas present. Can hardly wait to receive the third one [book]
...I bought the first two [books in Gatlinburg], which I have already read since returning home , and was disappointed with myself for not buying all three! I have never enjoyed two stories as much as I have these. The way the characters banter with each other makes me smile and the mysteries kept me hooked until the very end of each book. I can hardly wait to receive the third one and I'm pretty sure that you told me that a fourth one was in the works? ... You are an excellent writer and I hope to see more people "discover" you. Great Smoky Mountain Locations [in Three Devils Dancing] made reader feel she was there again
...I just finished reading Three Devils Dancing and was once again really pleased with the book. I probably would have never read any of your books had I not met you last summer at your book signing ... in Gatlinburg. I love how you have a couple of stories going on, which makes the books more exciting. I was very disappointed when I finished reading this book last night, because I now have to wait until your next book comes out. I just don't know how you are going to top the last three books you have written. You have great talent! Our trip last summer to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the tour of Cades Cove made me feel that I was there again when you mentioned these areas and trails in your books.

Liked the little hints of [Donald's] character
Sorry I have not written you sooner but my job never stops. I'm glad I did because I was dangerously diverted from my real job being so caught up in the mysteries. I like the development of the Donald character and his many redeeming qualities - good job there. I hope you are continuing the series and I will be checking the web site for future announcements of the next novel. Keep up the good work.

[Your new book, Three Devils Dancing is like] eating an awesome steak
I love your new book! I haven't finished it yet, not because it doesn't keep my interest (quite the contrary) but because I don't want it to end. I liken it to eating an awesome steak. You don't get one very often and can't wait to dig in, but you really want to eat slowly and chew every morsel, to get the full enjoyment. Then you hate it when the meal is over. You are an awesome writer, man! I get into the characters so much, and the dialogue is so believable and cool that I'm laughing, crying or cheering constantly. That says a lot when you can get your reader to feel the whole range of emotions. Donald, Billy and Roy are the coolest! You're the man, buddy! You have carved yourself a place, right up there with the best, and you deserve to be there.

From “Across the Pond”
Greetings from Ireland!
II was on holiday recently to your part of the world. [I was in] the Smokies and spent a couple of days in Gatlinburg. I was having dinner one night with my dad in a steakhouse [there.] I had a look about the small shop inside and stumbled upon your book. Thought I would buy it as a souvenir from the area instead of the many hand carved Indians, etc. that are abundant in shops around the Smokies. Anyway, just emailed you to let you know I really enjoyed the book and it definitely had some great characters and a very lively story to it. Definitely better value for money than a wooden Indian, in my opinion!
Very lovely part of the world you live in. Interesting to see Ireland included in your book. Anyway, I was lucky to stumble across your book.
